Turn off the Zoom annotation tool in your Zoom meeting settings

Updated on

The Annotation tool allows Zoom hosts and participants to draw on the screen and everyone in the meeting can see what has been drawn. Zoombombers exploit this tool to draw inappropriate images that are seen by everyone in the meeting.

1. Go to your TC Zoom account by logging in at myTC.columbia.edu with your UNI and password.

2. Click on the Faculty, Student, or Employee Resources tab and under the General Technology Resources, click on TC Zoom.

3. In your Zoom account, click on Settings on the left.

4. Make sure you are in the Meeting tab.

5. Scroll down to the Annotation tool. Click the blue button and it will turn gray. The Annotation tool is off when the button is gray.
