Suppress background noise in Zoom

If you are in a classroom with background noise, such as an air conditioner, changing the Zoom settings for noise suppression can sometimes improve the audio quality for the remote participants.

Hosts AND meeting participants should set their noise suppression to Medium.

1. In your Zoom meeting, click the arrow next to the microphone icon.

2. From the menu select Audio Settings

3. In the Audio Settings, under Suppress background noise select Medium.

'Medium' level of background noise suppression has been tested to work best in a classroom with a Meeting Owl and air conditioner.

4. Click the Close button to save and exit the Settings window.
