This basic tutorial will cover how to upload your PDF syllabus into Canvas and setting that PDF to display as soon as the Syllabus webpage loads.
1. Navigate to your Syllabus page.

4. Highlight the texts you entered for Step 3, and select the Document icon in editor toolbar.
Clicking the Document icon will have the same effect as clicking the arrow beside it and selecting Upload Document from the dropdown menu. The other dropdown options, Course Documents and User Documents, are useful if you have previously uploaded a document that you wish to use here.
5. Drag and drop your syllabus into the Upload file area or click to browse the file on your computer.
Alternatively, click in the Upload File area to browse for the file on your computer.

6. Click Submit to confirm your document selection.

7. Canvas will create a link from the text you highlighted in Step 4.
8. Click the link to reveal the Link Options/Remove Link menu.
9. Select Link Options.

10. The Link Options menu will appear on the right.
10.1. Under Display Options, check Preview Inline and Expand Preview by Default.
10.2. Click Done to save changes.
