1. To obtain analytics for a quiz on Canvas, go to your Canvas course and click on Quizzes on the left side.
2. Click on a quiz to view analytics.
3. Click on Quiz Statistics on the right.
4. The quiz summary includes the Average Score, the High Score, the Low Score, the Standard Deviation, and the Average Time to complete the quiz.
5. The Question Breakdown includes an item analysis for each test item.
6. To filter by course section,click the drop-down arrow next to Section Filter on the top.
7. To download an Excel file with student quiz analytics, click on Student Analysis.
8. A report will be generated and downloaded to your web browser. Open the downloaded file. The Student Analysis file will display quiz analytics per student.
9. To download the item analysis for the quiz, Click on Item Analysis.
Item analysis is analyzing student responses to individual quiz questions with the intention of evaluating the quiz quality. It is a tool used to uphold quiz effectiveness and fairness.
10. A report will be generated and downloaded to your web browser. Open the downloaded file. The Item Analysis file will display Item Analysis for the quiz.
