Updated on

Find your Canvas course

1. Log into the myTC portal.

2. Click the Canvas icon in the top-right corner.

3. Click Dashboard in the Global Navigation Menu.

4. Click a course card to access that course.

1. Click Quizzes in the Course Navigation Menu.

2. Click the Add Quiz button.

3. In the Details tab, enter the name of your quiz [1]. In the Rich Content Editor [2], introduce your quiz with formatted text, images, video, or sample math equations.

4. Complete the rest of the quiz details.

5. Click the Questions tab. Click the New Question button to manually create a new quiz question.

6. Quiz questions are not automatically numbered for instructors. To add a custom name to your quiz question, enter the name in the question text field.

Custom names can help you identify quiz questions more easily. Regardless of the question name, students always see quiz questions in numerical order (i.e. Question 1, Question 2).

7. In the question type drop-down menu, select the type of quiz question you would like to add.

8. To set the point value for the question, enter the points in the pts field.

Quiz point values support up to two decimal places. Entering more than two decimal places will round the point value to the nearest hundredth.

9. Enter your quiz question.

10. To save your question, click Update Question.

11. To create a draft of your quiz, click Save.

If you are ready to publish your quiz, click Save & Publish.

12. When your quiz is saved in a draft state, you can return to the page and publish it at any time by clicking the Publish button.

The button will change from gray to green.
