Common Problems that might occur when using Powerpoint Cameo

"I can't hear myself in the playback. What’s wrong?"

Before hitting the red Record button, look at the Settings or Audio icon in the recording window. Ensure the correct microphone is selected. If you see the volume bar moving when you speak, you are good to go!

"My video feed is frozen or black."

Your camera can only be used by one application at a time. Close Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime completely before opening the PowerPoint recording studio.

"I don’t see the Cameo button or the Recording tab."

This usually means your computer is still using the old "Office 2021" license. Please revisit Part 1 of this guide to use the License Removal Tool and sign in with your Microsoft 365 credentials.

"My computer is plugged into an external monitor. The recording screen looks strange on my second monitor."

If possible, disconnect from any external monitors and record using only your primary laptop screen to ensure the resolution is captured correctly.
