Change sharing settings for a Google Doc collaboration in Canvas

Find your Canvas course

1. Log into the myTC portal.

2. Click the Canvas icon in the top-right corner.

3. Click Dashboard in the Global Navigation Menu.

4. Click a course card to access that course.

1. Click Collaborations in the Course Navigation Menu.

If you have not previously authorized Google Drive access in Canvas, you may be prompted to authorize access.

2. Click the Start a new collaboration button.

3. In the Collaborate using: drop-down menu, select Google Docs.

4. Enter a title in the Document name field and a description in the Description field.

5. Select collaborators.

By default, you can view the list of people in the course and can collaborate with individual or multiple users in the course. You can also click the Groups tab and collaborate with a group.

6. Click Start Collaborating.

7. You will be redirected to the newly created document. Click the Share button.

8. A pop-up will appear. Click the Share with people settings icon.

9. To prevent editors from changing permissions and sharing, uncheck the Editors can change permissions and share checkbox.
