Using the Confusion Report in Perusall

Updated on

The confusion report uses the Perusall algorithm to identify the top 3–4 topics of confusion or engagement, and the best student annotations in an assignment.  A Confusion Report may not be generated if there are a small number of students participating.

1. Under the assignments tab, select an assignment and click Confusion report.

2. A new window will pop up. On the left, you will see:

2.1. Topics identified as most relevant

2.2. Keywords for each topic

2.3. Their respective passages from the assignment.

3. Annotations with the greatest amount of engagement (e.g., upvotes, responses) are displayed.

4. You can print the confusion report by clicking Print on bottom right corner of the page. It will be printed in one easy-to-digest page.
