You will need to import/upload data into Power BI before you can begin creating visualizations and dashboards.
1. Open Power BI on the web following these instructions.
2. Click on Get data at the bottom left corner.
3. Within Files, click Get.
4. Select where the file is stored. Click Local File if the file is saved onto your computer.
5. Select the data file and click Open.
6. Your dataset will not appear in your Power BI online account.
7. If you want to create a report using this dataset, hoover your mouse over the dataset and click on the 3 stacked elipses (dotes). Then select Create Report.
8. You can now start building your dashboard using the dataset you uploaded.
