Access RDS using macOS

Updated on

Global Protect VPN is required to access the RDS. Before proceeding, confirm that you are actively connected to VPN.

1. To begin, access Launchpad by clicking its icon in the dock.

2. Navigate to the search bar and enter "Microsoft Remote Desktop." Once you see the application listed, proceed by clicking on it to open.

3. Click on the "+" icon to add a new connection, and select the "Add PC" option.

4. In the PC name field, type in "rds2k19.int.tc.columbia.edu" and then click the Add button.

5. Right click the recently added connection, and select the Connect option.

6. When prompted, enter tc\UNI and okta password. UNI should changed to your actual UNI (example below).

7. A window of the RDS desktop will appear on your screen.

Are you unable to connect to the RDS server while connected to VPN? Please contact the TCIT Service Desk by emailing [email protected] or call (212) 678-3300.
