Embed a resource in a Canvas page

When adding links to a Canvas module do not use use browser bar links or permalinks. Make sure you follow the instructions below for materials to be successfully linked.

Be sure to check the links in your Canvas course at the start of each semester. Links might break when importing one course to the next.

Students who are experiencing issues with embedded links should go to the Course Resource List in the course navigation to access reading links.

When embedding content make sure to attache the Student Resource Guide for troubleshooting.

1. In the Canvas course navigation, click Modules.

2. Find the page you would like to add the course resources to and click on it.

3. Click Edit at the top of the page.

4. In the rich content editor click the extensions tool icon.

5. From the drop down click View All.

6. From the list click Import Citations [no need to click Done]

7. In the pop-out, click on the resource(s) that you would like to add to the page and click Add. You can change the label and bibliography style for the resource links if desired.

8. The resource will be added to your Canvas page. Click Save and Publish to make the resource available to your students.
