Embed a resource into a Canvas module

When adding links to a Canvas module do not use use browser bar links or permalinks. Make sure you follow the instructions below for materials to be successfully linked.

Be sure to check the links in your Canvas course at the start f each semester. Links might break when importing one course to the next.

Students who are experiencing issues with embedded links should go to the Course Resource List in the course navigation to access reading links.

When embedding content make sure to attach the Student Resource Guide for troubleshooting.

1. In your Canvas course, click Modules in the course navigation.

2. Find the module that you would like to add your resource to and click the + icon in the corner of the module.

3. In the pop-out menu, click External Tool.

4. From the pop out click Course Resource list.

5. In the Course Resource Pop-out click on the article or section of articles that you would like to add and click Select.

6. In the External Tool window click Add Item.

7. The article will be added to your Module.
