1. From the VLC menu, click "VLC", then click "Preferences"

2. From the Preferences menu, click "Show All"

3. Click "Input/Codes"

4. Click the dropdown arrow next to "Demuxers"

5. Click the dropdown menu next to "Demux module" to expand the options

6. Select "H264 video demuxer"

7. Click Save

8. Try to open .264 video
