NVivo "Full Permissions" Work Around

When you install NVivo onto your Mac, you might see the following prompt.

1. Click on the Security & Privacy button, and verify if Nvivo 12 is on the list of applications approved for Full Disk Access.

1.1. If the program is not listed, click on the + button (#2 Below) to add the program to this Full Disk Access list.

1.2. Turn on the Full Disk Access.

Restart your computer, and then try running Nvivo again. If the program is working, then consider this tutorial completed. If the program is still prompting full-disk access, then follow the additional steps below to remedy the issue.

2. Open Text Edit, and from the Menu bar click on Save..

3. Name the file CloudTabs.db, and save to your desktop.

4. The format of the new file should display as RTF, and needs to be changed.  Right click on the file, and click Get Info.

5. Remove the .RTF from the Name & Extension column and press the ENTER key.

6. A prompt will appear to change the file extension. Select use.db from the prompt Window.

7. From the Finder menu bar,  click on the Go while holding on the OPTION key of your keyboard and open the Library folder.

9. Drag the CloudsTab.db file from your desktop into the Safari Folder.

10. Close the folder, and try running NVivo. You should be prompted for admin credentials after running NVivo, but the program should proceed with the setup!
