You can use the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) portal to change your Active Directory password (this is the password you use to login to your TC computer). If you have not setup SSPR yet, please see our guide on the process.
1. Open your web browser in private mode (for Firefox or Safari) or Incognito Mode (for Chrome) and go to https://aka.ms/sspr/?whr=tc.columbia.edu
2. On the Get back into your account page, you will need to use the correct email address to initiate the Self-Service Password Reset portal:
Enter the same username you use when you sign into your TC computer or the TC VPN. Typically, this username is either your last name or your UNI, followed by: @tc.columbia.edu
For example: [email protected] or [email protected]
Then, complete the Captcha prompt, then click Next.
3. After successfully completing the Captcha, choose the appropriate selection and click Next.
4. You will be prompted to recover your account using the two of the authentication methods you configured when you first set up SSPR:
5. When both verification steps have been completed, you will see the Choose a New Password screen. Type a new password, confirm the password, then click Finish.
NOTE: Your password must be at least 8 characters long, and cannot be one of the last two passwords you previously used.
A confirmation screen is displayed, letting you know your password has been reset.
