Update the Identity Certificate on BYOD Devices (Android OS)

Updated on

  1. You may receive an email from [email protected] alerting you that your network access is about to expire. This is in relation to the ClearPass identity certificate expiring on your BYOD device (personal phone/tablet/laptop) and requires that the certificate be updated. The original identity certificate was valid for 1 year. Once updated, the new identity certificate will be valid for 5 years.

  • Locate the ClearPass QuickConnect app on your device. If it's not present, you can download and install it from the Google Play Store.

  • Open the ClearPass QuickConnect app, and select the Columbia Teachers College network to continue.

  • Login with your Active Directory credentials, check the terms of use box, and click Log In.

  • Click I have already installed QuickConnect.

  • Click Install Network Profile.

  • Click Open to run the network config file.

  • The app will go through the provisioning process. You do not need to do anything for this step.

  • Once provisioning is complete, click OK to proceed.

  • At this point, your device is re-provisioned and your identity certificate has been renewed for 5 years. Feel free to close out of the web page and continue using your wireless connection.

  • If there are any issues with the re-enrollment process, please contact TCIT's Service Desk at [email protected] or (212) 678-3300.
