Make a video for a module in Canvas

Find your Canvas course

1. Log into the myTC portal.

2. Click the Canvas icon in the top-right corner.

3. Click Dashboard in the Global Navigation Menu.

4. Click a course card to access that course.

1. Click Modules in the Course Navigation Menu.

2. Click the Add Item icon for the module that you would like to add a recording to.

3. A pop-up will appear. Click the Add drop-down menu.

4. Select Page.

5. Click [ New Page ], enter a title in the Page Name field, and click Add Item.

6. Click the title of your newly created page.

7. Click the Edit button.

8. Click the media icon.

9. A pop-up will appear. Click the Record tab.

If you are using Google Chrome, allow Canvas to access your microphone and camera.

10. Click the Mic button to select the microphone that you will record with.

11. Click the Webcam button to select the camera that you will record with.

12. To start recording, click Start Recording.

13. To finish recording, click Finish.

The volume level and length of your video will continuously update as you record.

14. You will be able to preview your recorded media. When you are ready, enter a title in the Title field and click Save.

To restart your recording, click the Start Over button.

15. Your video will be embedded into the Rich Content Editor. Click Save.

If you are ready to publish the page, click Save & Publish.

16. When you are ready to publish the page, click the Publish button.
