Create a discussion board using general guiding questions for your Canvas Emergency Plan

In these instructions, you'll first create a Discussion Forum and then add it to your Emergency Plan.

1. Create your Discussion Forum.

1.1. Click Discussions in your left navigation bar.

1.2. Click + Discussion in the top right hand corner.

1.3. Title your discussion board and add your general guiding questions and instructions in the text box.

1.4. Below the text box, click Allow threaded replies to allow students to reply to another student's posts.

1.5. Make the discussion board available from the first day of the semester. Make the Until date the final day of the semester. Click Save.

1.6. Publish your discussion board to make it available to students.

2. Add the Discussion Forum to your Emergency Plan.

2.1. Go to your Emergency Plan page in the left navigation bar.

2.2. Click Edit.

2.6. Click Save.

2.7. Publish your Emergency Plan page which is now linked to your pre-made discussion board.
