Setup a Print Queue using Windows10

Updated on

If this is the first time your configuring a GoPrint queue to Windows 10, then some additional features on Windows will need to be enabled before you can continue setting up a print queue. GoPrint is not accessible outside of campus or residential dorms, so we recommend that you setup print queues while on campus.

1. From the search bar, type in "Turn Windows features on or off".

1b. Scroll down to Print and Document Services, expand the folder by mouse clicking on the plus (+) sign, and click on LPD Print Service and LPR Port Monitor boxes.

1c. Windows will enable these settings on your computer. Once it's complete, you should see the following prompt:

2. Click on the search bar and type "Printers & Scanners"

3. Mouse click on "Add a printer or scanner"

4. After a couple of seconds, a new option should appear. Mouse click on "The printer that I want isn't listed".

5. Select "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings" and click Next.

6. Select "Create a new port", then click on the drop down list and choose the LPR Port. Afterwards, click Next.
