Register for Self-Service Password Reset

Updated on

TCIT uses a Self-Service Password Reset system to make it easy to recover your password if you ever forget it. To ensure you never lose access to your account, you must first register to be part of the password reset system. Registering will enable you to reset, unlock, or change your password without having to contact the TCIT Service Desk.

1. Open your web browser in private mode (for Firefox or Safari) or Incognito Mode (for Chrome) and go to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup

2. To sign in, you will need to use the correct email address to initiate the Self-Service Password Reset portal:

Enter the same username you use when you sign into your TC computer or the TC VPN. Typically, this username is either your last name or your UNI, followed by: @tc.columbia.edu

For example: [email protected] or [email protected]

3. Sign into the myTC Portal as you normally would.

4. At the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Registration screen, you will be presented with options to set up an Authentication Phone and Authentication Email. You must set up both of these options.
