Updated on

New Analytics allows you to track weekly online activity in your course using an interactive chart graph. Data is for viewing only and cannot directly be changed. You can view analytics in both active and concluded courses.

Find your Canvas course

1. Log into the myTC portal.

2. Click the Canvas icon in the top right corner.

3. Click Dashboard in the Global Navigation Menu.

4. Click on a course card to access that course.

1. Click the New Analytics button in the home page Sidebar.

Depending on the size of your screen or browser, the Sidebar can appear on the right or bottom of the page.

2. Click the Weekly Online Activity tab.

3. The analytics page is dynamic based on filtered content. By default, all sections are displayed and cannot be removed.

Filtered data is displayed as a chart with two rows: average page views [1] and average participations [2].

Data for the week that is currently in progress is indicated by a dotted line [3].

4. Below the chart, you can view the amount of page views and participations for a specific resource in the course. You can view the resource name [1], the number of students who accessed the page [2], the number of views for the page [3], and the number of participations for the page [4].

5. To view the analytics in a data table:

5.1. Click the Options icon, and click Data Table.

5.2. Filtered data is displayed as a chart with a single row for each filter, including the date range [1], average number of page views [2], and the average number of participations [3].
